F. Germeau1 1 Research unit in Networking, EECS department, University of Liège, Belgium (1997) AbstractThe ABR service of ATM networks is a congestion control scheme which uses the feedback information from the network to adapt the rate of the sources. The goal of this study is to find the best parameters and switch algorithms that reach the ABR requirements. The selection is based on configurations GFC1 and GFC2 with constant and variable rate sources. Different sizes of networks are addressed and the switch algorithms are binary or explicit. The ERICA algorithm is specially pointed out.KeywordsAsynchronous Tranfer Mode (ATM), Available Bit Rate (ABR), congestion control, performance study, simulation |
