Role of RUN in the project

RUN has designed and developed the overall architecture of the TOTEM traffic engineering toolbox, and is responsible for the integration of traffic engineering tools developed by the three partners.

Research in RUN focuses on intra-domain traffic engineering algorithms for MPLS networks. Examples are solutions for the dynamic calculation of LSPs, fast restoration in case of failures, and algorithms to provide QoS in DiffServ/MPLS networks. Besides theoretical studies, RUN assesses its results by way of simulations. RUN is also interested in joint intra-domain and inter-domain traffic engineering.

Traffic engineering papers published by RUN in the ATRIUM project give an idea of our earlier work on this topic.
